The US Army Air Force A-1 sweater was originally designed for mechanics during World War II. With its relatively heavy texture, it was well-suited for use in cold climates. Thanks to its simple yet functional design and excellent warmth, the A-1 sweater was also adopted by pilots and other personnel of the US Army Air Force.
